Sistem Informasi Peminjaman Alat Laboratorium (Studi Kasus: SMKN 7 Surabaya)

Practical activities are a major part of the learning process in vocational high schools because they contribute to the development of student skills. SMKN 7 Surabaya has a learning character that is closely related to practical activities. Good management of equipment loans is essential for smooth practical activities. Along with the increasing need for laboratory equipment, the manual loan system is considered incapable of managing data and providing effective and efficient services to students. The current loan process still relies on manual recording, which has the potential to cause recording errors and data loss. In addition, students cannot know the exact availability of equipment before borrowing because information is only obtained from laboratory staff. Another problem that arises is the lack of recording of equipment conditions after borrowing, making it difficult to track equipment damage or loss. This study aims to design and build a web-based laboratory equipment loan information system to improve efficiency and record-keeping in managing loan data. System development was carried out using the waterfall method consisting of the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, and testing. In its implementation, the system was developed using the Laravel framework because it facilitates the development process with an organized structure and provides various built-in features
