Abstract

Concern over the increasing number of need for social services has encouraged the community independently to build community-based social service initiatives. From a social welfare perspective, this situation needs to be welcomed positively, especially in the midst of the government's limitations in providing services. The problem is, in many institutions that are initiated by the community, the management of social services still tends to be traditional based solely on voluntary charity. This situation motivated the Community Service Team, Social Welfare Department, FISIP Bengkulu University, to carry out a service entitled "Social Service Organization Management Intervention" in the Bengkulu City "Inclusion Generation" Community (Genik). In detail, the management intervention of social service organizations in the Genik Community is carried out through a series of activities in the form of: a) Assistance in the management of social service organizations; and b) Creation and printing of media for social marketing institutions; and, c) Provision of stimulant funds for revolving loans for assisted productive economic businesses. This service activity is relevant to the commitment of the Department of Social Welfare to develop scientific studies and methods of social work practice. In addition to producing graduates who are competent in providing professional social services, through various other higher education dharmas, the Department is also actively promoting professional services among social service providers.
