Abstract

 

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted the economy of the residents of Ketegan Village, Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency. The increase in unemployment due to layoffs has the effect of reducing or eliminating sources of family income. For this reason, there is a need for assistance and direction to the Ketegan community (Partners) regarding family scale businesses / home industry in the post-Covid 19 era. Team from the Faculty of Agriculture, Univ. Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya (Lecturers and Students) provides assistance to Ketegan community partners who have lost job opportunities (PHK) to become new entrepreneurial candidates using participatory methods. Tutorials, counseling and mentoring aim to provide motivation and insight that every human being is equipped by Allah with the ability to earn sustenance through business. Several examples of simple business opportunities are introduced that can increase the community's income/economy. Material regarding business opportunities for prospective new household scale entrepreneurs; as well as an introduction to technology for the production of processed herbal drinks, packaging and marketing. The delivery of material places greater emphasis on the aim of empowering Partners (non-productive economic groups) in an integrated, participative manner. The results of the mentoring activities can be seen: 1) The Partner Group enthusiastically received the material provided. (2) Partners/prospective new entrepreneurs have been motivated to try the processing/production technology for herbal drinks. (3) Partners have mastered packaging techniques and have the courage to try marketing. (4) Can improve the family economy and utilize existing sources of raw materials. (5) Establishing Synergy between Universities and the Government plays a very important role in Community Empowerment
